1. Introduction to Gameplay

Horizon Walker is an auto-battler with a turn-based element, requiring strategic placement and action order selection. You can assemble a team of up to five units, each with unique stats and skills that suit different roles like attackers, tanks, and support. Mastering these combinations and action orders is key to overcoming challenging content.

2. Combat System Overview

Combat in Horizon Walker is unique in its Action Value (AV) system:

  • Action Bar: Characters take turns based on their AV. Characters with higher AV go first, and once they act, their AV is reduced.
  • Remaining AV: After each character's turn, the remaining AV will be shown. If it's less than 100 (monster's AV), they’ll have to wait until the next turn.
  • Action Recovery: Each character recovers a set AV per round. To maximize effectiveness, pay attention to this recovery rate and manage your skills and turns to act before the enemy attacks you.

Tip: The game’s AI can handle easier battles on auto, but for tougher enemies, manually control the action order for better results.

3. Character Rarities, Roles, and Levels

Horizon Walker characters range from B (lowest) to EX (highest) rarities. While high-rarity characters have better stats, all characters can be ascended by collecting duplicates or purchasing fragments, which enhances their base stats but not their gameplay.

  • Level Cap: Character levels are capped by the hero’s level (MC), so level up the hero to avoid bottlenecks in team progression.
  • Character Roles: Each character has a role: damage dealers, supports, tanks, etc. Choose roles wisely to ensure balanced combat effectiveness.

4. Equipment and Stigmatas

Equip your characters with stigmatas and weapons for stat boosts and skill upgrades:

  • Stigmatas: Earned by defeating daily bosses up to three times per day, stigmatas have set bonuses that can significantly strengthen characters.
  • Weapons: Characters can also equip weapons, which provide unique passive abilities and stat boosts. EX weapons (character-specific) unlock powerful abilities.

Tip: Avoid investing in S-level and lower weapons; they are only good for early progression.

5. Faith Level and AFK System

Faith Level introduces an AFK resource collection system:

  • As your Faith Level increases, you’ll passively accumulate tribute, including hero EXP, character EXP, gold coins, and weapon EXP.
  • Tribute maxes out in 24 hours, so collect it daily for a steady resource supply.

6. Gacha System and Summoning

Horizon Walker has a unique gacha system that lets players summon characters with diamonds or gold coins:

  • Summoning Process: You can perform 5 draws at once, but each summon requires you to pay gold coins to confirm the character or weapon draw. If you don’t buy them immediately, you’ll lose them in the next summon.
  • EX Banners: The EX banners have an EX guarantee after 50 summons and an SS guarantee after 20, with pity counters carrying over to the next banner.

Tip: Save diamonds for skins, as coins are sufficient for general summons.

7. Rerolling Guide

While rerolling isn’t necessary, starting with Queen Everett and her weapon will give you a solid advantage:

  • Queen Everett: She excels in healing, marking enemies, and dealing AoE damage, making her invaluable in different scenarios.
  • Reroll Tip: If you also manage to draw the SS nun (Lisandra), you’ll have a powerful setup for endgame team compositions. Check our Reroll Guide for a step-by-step on how to maximize your early summons.
