Introduction
Welcome to HazeReverb! This turn-based strategy game, similar to Brave Nine or Brown Dust 2, combines strategic depth with a chibi art style and impressive character designs. While the chibi aesthetic might not appeal to everyone, the character artwork and skins in this game are top-notch, giving it a unique charm.
Game Basics
This is an auto-battler game where you select nine characters and place them on a 3x7 battleground. You assign an action order for each character and watch them execute their moves in sequence.
characters are divided into four primary roles: Attackers,Tanks and supports and other unique type called "Firepower"
Turn Order
The turn system in HazeReverb is slightly different from traditional gacha games. Characters act in sequence, alternating between a player character and an enemy. However, support characters and firepower units don’t follow this action order. This unique system allows you to perform a support action, followed by an attacker’s move, before the enemy's turn.
Tip: If all your active attackers and tanks are defeated and only supports remain, you’ll lose the battle. Plan your lineup carefully!{alertSuccess}
Here are some key strategic elements:
- Position your supports and offensive characters to target high-priority enemies early.
- Place tanks where they can absorb the most damage and protect the team.
- FirePower units need to charge their skill for one turn before attacking, They hit very hard but most of them are squishy and they get one shot before even attacking for that avoid building them early on until you get better gear.
Game Modes and Progression
Story Mode PvE Content & PvP
HazeReverb offers more than just fanservice and character collecting. The PvE content includes:
- Story Progression: Follow the main storyline to unlock new features and rewards when defeating enemies.
- Scarlet Tower: A permanent 100-floor challenge mode that unlocks after clearing Stage 4-17. Each floor has three conditions for full completion, This mode doesn't consume stamina so take your time doing it.
- Moon Abyss: A limited-time Version of Scarlet Tower, it's more of an endgame tower mode with both hard and easy difficulty levels. Completing each floor provides valuable rewards, so keep an eye on its availability.
- Alliance Extermination (Boss Raid): Defeat a powerful boss called Original Sin. You can participate up to three times per day, earning points based on rounds survived, total damage, and if you were able to beat it. Rankings are calculated from the top three attempts, with rewards distributed based on performance.
- And obviously a PVP mode
Pro Tip: To excel in PvP and boss raids, you need to invest in the right characters. Check our tier lists to see which units to prioritize for these modes! We’ll also create in-depth guides on strategies for the Scarlet Tower and Moon Abyss in the future, so stay tuned!{alertInfo}
The Gacha System
Like many gacha games, HazeReverb has limited-time and standard banners:
- SSR Guaranteed at 95 Pulls: After 95 pulls, you’re guaranteed an SSR character.
- Limited banners also include a “pity” system—accumulate 200 points to exchange for the featured character for each pull you get 1 point.
- Novice Banner: Unlocked after Stage 1-5, the novice banner guarantees one SSR and allows unlimited rerolls until you’re satisfied. However, you can only get one SSR per multi-pull.
- Recommended Choices: We recommend aiming for Kokorokami first or Alice if you’re looking for a strong DPS unit. For more details, check out our reroll guide.
Character Development
Characters have several growth paths in HazeReverb:
- Character Level: Increases stats with each level.
- Star Level (Ascension): Increases the max level and stats, with SSRs starting at 3 stars, SRs at 2, and Rs at 1. You can ascend characters up to 6 stars.
- Skill Level: Skills range from level 0 to 10, requiring skill books for upgrades. Maxing out a character’s skill level takes time but offers a significant boost.
- Equipment: Each character has three unique items. Upgrading these to level 10 increases stats and adds a skill level bonus.
- Core System: End-game feature that provides large stat boosts for your characters. Each character can be equiped with up to 2 Cores.
Recommended Characters To Build
Your first goal should be to reach Stage 3-3 As fast as possible to unlock the Commander Room. This feature allows you to collect materials over time, helping you progress faster.
To progress smoothly through the story and various game modes, here’s a recommended list of characters:
- Attackers: Kokorokami (from Novice Banner) and Skadd (a free character from the story).
- Defenders/Tanks: Lilith and Umihime for early defense, but consider transitioning to SSRs like Farnese or Nastya as you progress.
- Supports: Tina, Crim, and Hotarugusa are versatile and helpful across different situations. Build them early for maximum benefit.
Tip: Use our tier lists to check each character's strengths before investing heavily in them.{alertInfo}
