Lost Sword Developer Notes & Upcoming Patch Breakdown

Lost Sword Developer Notes & Upcoming Patch Breakdown

The Lost Swords developers have shared their latest dev notes, giving us a glimpse of what’s coming in the next update. From a new endgame mode to quality-of-life improvements, here’s everything you need to know!

The Reincarnation of the Stars - A New Endgame Challenge

This is essentially Lost Swords’ version of Genshin Impact’s Spiral Abyss or Honkai: Star Rail’s Memory of Chaos—a tower-style challenge mode that resets periodically.

How it Works:

  • You’ll need two separate teams to take on the challenge.
  • The tower resets every two weeks (or on a set schedule).
  • Clearing floors grants a one-time castle reward—no repeat farming.
  • After clearing, you can replay for score-based rankings against other players.

One of the more interesting additions is a new growth mechanic. The devs mention that they’re adding special materials from Reincarnation of the Stars that can be used for additional character growth. They’re also working on experience books that accumulate even after reaching the max level (currently level 250), which could hint at ascension-type upgrades—but we’ll have to wait for more details.

Party Raid Improvements - A Fix for Matchmaking Issues

Right now, party raid matchmaking is a mess—either you get stuck waiting forever or you get matched with NPCs instead of real players. While this isn’t a huge issue right now (since the raid boss is only level 260), it’ll become a big problem as higher difficulties are introduced.

Here’s What’s Changing:

  • New difficulty scaling: Instead of a fixed difficulty, there will be multiple stages (1 to N) so players can choose a raid that fits their power level.
  • Cross-stage matching: Players across different difficulty stages can now match together, reducing queue times.

Level adjustments for fair play:

  • If a lower-level player gets matched with higher levels, their stats will be boosted to make them stronger than NPCs.
  • Even though high and low-level players are matched together, boss difficulty adjusts per player. This means everyone fights the same boss, but at a difficulty that makes sense for them.
  • Better rewards: Higher difficulties offer better rewards.

This should make raids more accessible and ensure that players aren’t stuck waiting for hours just to get a match.

Equipment Dismantling - A Much-Needed Quality of Life Fix

One of the most annoying aspects of Lost Swords is checking gear stats while dismantling. Right now, you have to exit dismantle mode, go to your inventory, check stats, then return to dismantle mode. It’s clunky and frustrating.

The next update finally fixes this:

  • When you add an item to the dismantling list, a magnifying glass button will appear over its icon in the left-side inventory.
  • Tapping this button brings up a pop-up window showing the item’s stats and options before you finalize dismantling it.

A simple but huge quality-of-life improvement!

Costume Production & Upcoming Skins

The devs also talked about costume production. While they’re actively working on new skins, they admit that progress is slow due to animation constraints.

There Are Two Types of Skins:

  1. General Costumes – These don’t have custom skill cutscenes and will be cheaper (e.g., Bedivere’s costume).
  2. Special Boutique Costumes – These include a unique skill cutscene animation, take longer to produce, and cost more premium currency.

Upcoming Skins:

Lost Sword - Galahad skin

  • Galahad’s Bunny Girl Costume – A special boutique outfit with a unique skill cutscene.
  • Tristan’s Bunny Girl Costume – A regular costume with no special animation, making it more affordable.
  • Anessa’s Bunny Girl Costume – Another upcoming skin, though details on whether it will have a unique animation are not yet confirmed.

New Character : Erin

Lost Sword- Erin

A new character is joining Lost Swords, and this time, it’s Erin, the princess of the Kingdom of El-Aia.

She’s a Radiant-attribute Wizard focused on supporting the party, which is exactly what the game needs right now

Let’s be real—we already have plenty of DPS carries, but not enough strong supports, so adding Erin to the roster is a smart move.

The devs also mention her relationship with Ethan and some backstory details, so if you’re into the lore, it might be worth checking out.

Erin is the only daughter of King Edward, the king of El-Aia. She is the reason for King Edward's life and his very existence.

They also teased her ultimate animation:

However, the kingdom was taken over by the conspiracy of the Tiamat cult that reached El-Aia. When his daughter appears to be in danger of being assassinated, he evacuates her to the south.

He became a slave to the Tiamat religion at the cost of his daughter's life. Can Ethan and his group save King Edward?

New Boss & Goblin Mobs Incoming

We’re also getting:

  • A brand-new boss (no details yet, but expect a tough challenge).
  • New Goblin-type enemies

Final Thoughts

This update brings much-needed improvements to Lost Swords, from fixing raid matchmaking to introducing new endgame content. The new gear dismantling system is also a great quality-of-life change.

But the biggest question is: Will the new tower mode and upcoming features keep players engaged?

Adding a support-focused character is great for team variety, but the real question is: Will Erin be viable in endgame content? If she’s just another weak buffer with low impact, she might not see much play. But if she brings strong healing, shields, or unique buffs, she could be meta-changing.

What do you guys think? Excited for Erin, or do you think she’ll end up being another forgettable addition? What are your thoughts on the Reincarnation of the Stars, raid changes, and skins? Let us know in the comments!
